REMOVAL OF SUBSIDY
PRESERVED EGG PRICES The producer subsidy on preserved eggs is to be removed, but this would have no effect on the price to consumers, said a representative of the Internal Marketing Department. For some time past, it was stated, the Poultry Board, acting as the National Egg Marketing Advisory Cotnmittee, and the Marketing Department had been concerned at the payment of the 4d a dozen subsidy on preserved eggs. The matter had been given careful consideration, and a decision had now been reached that in future the subsidy will not be paid on preserved eggs received through approved egg floors.
