SPEECH BRINGS OVATION IN AMERICA Mr John Fraser, of Dunedin, the holder of the first Rotary Foundation Fellowship to be gained by a New Zealander, was recently honoured at the University of California where he is studying. He was chosen from 648 students to be the speaker of the evening at the first of the series of Sunday supper programmes which are held at International House and have an average attendance of 500 students from 58 nations. Referring to his address, the magazine of the Rotary Club of Berkeley, California, states that “ his witty and scholarly talk on Rotary and New Zealand brought forth a loud ovation. He was a real credit to the Rotary Foundation principle.”
