ALLEGED ASSAULT
boarding house fracas A fracas in a boarding house yesterday morning had its sequel when George Owen Tinene, a labourer, aged 21, was charged before Mr J. D Willis, S.M., in the City Police Court with assaulting George Edward Purton so as to cause actual bodily harm. It was believed that the victim of the alleged assault had suffered two broken ribs, said Senior Sergeant Vaughan. . , On the application of the senior sergeant Ticene was remanded until November 3. bail being allowed in his own recognisance in the sum of £25. A charge of common assault would probably be preferred when the defendant next appeared, the senior sergeant said.
