Rivers in Good Trim for Angling

Prospects for the coming week-end for anglers are bright as all the rivers in the North Otago area are in flrstclass condition. Some excellent catches have been recorded at the Waitaki River, and most anglers have met with some success. The largest fish recorded is a 91b blown landed earlier this week, while several 6ib brown and 31b to 61b rainbow have also been landed. So far the feed had failed to run at the mouth, but the way the birds are working indicates there is a plentiful supply just outside the mouth. The Ahuriri and Hakataramea Rivers have so far failed to yield large bags, and the Kakanui would be all the better of a good fresh.
