The Auckland Trotting Club's meeting will be opened to-morrow and the fields contain a large number of horses from South Island stables. The principal race is the F: J. Smith Memorial Handicap, and five of the 10 runners are from Addington, so that the prospect of the major portion of the stake coming south looks bright.
