FIRST DIVIDEND
MAJOR AFFORESTATION COMPANY WHAKATANE BOARD MILLS J>.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. The first annual meeting of the re-cently-reconstructed Whakatane Board Mills, Ltd., was held to-day in Wellington and attended by 50 shareholders. The following report was subsequently issued to the press by tne chairman of directors, Mr G. H. Mackley, M.P.: —“Apart from its being ihe inaugural meeting of the company, the declaration of a 5 per cent, dividend on both the preference and ordinary shares for the year ended June 30 created interest Dividend cheques will be posted on and after October 26 to all shareholders on the register of the company as at October 5. It was stated by the chairman to be the first occasion on which any of the major New Zealand afforestation companies had declared a dividend.
