AMERICAN TENNIS SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS

Rec. 8 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 11. None of the American stars were troubled to win their first round matches in the American Singles tennis championships at Forest Hills today Talcer, Cochell. Tom Brown and Seixas had easy victories. The Australians, Hopman and Long, won comfortably, and Drobny and Cermk of Czechoslovakia, and Sturgess, of South Africa, also had easy first round victories. Other leading Americans and the Australian Davis Cup players had first round byes. Schroeder is not competing.
