DRAMA LEAGUE

NORTH ISLAND FINAL ELIMINATION FESTIVAL p.A NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 16. The dramatic play “Prologue from Key Largo.” written by Maxwell Anderson, and produced for the W.E.A. Drama Club, Wellington area, by Mr N. Beatus, won the North Island elimination festival of the British Drama-League at Hawera to-night. “ The Pot of Broth,” by W. B. Yeats, produced for the Gordonton Women’s Institute, Waikato area, by Mrs A. Drummond was second; and “The Brothers,” by Nora Ratcliff, produced -for the Manawatu Repertory Society by Mrs K. Birnie, was third. The winning play will be presented at the national festival at Dunedin in competition with the South Island winner.
