EARLY DECISION UNLIKELY

VENUE OF EMPIRE GAMES p.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 16. It appears unlikely that a decision on the venue of the 1950 Empire Games will be made in the near future,' according to inquiries made to-day in official circles. Both Christchurch and Auckland have applied for the event. The New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association is not expected to announce its choice until the return from London of the manager of the New Zealand Olympic team. Mr D. T. Woodfleld, or at least until a comprehensive report has been received from him. The association will probably obtain Mr Woodfleld’s impressions of the staging of the Olympic Games so that the facilities required can be adequately assessed.
