“The Egg and I," Wendon—Ryecom has not nearly the same feeding value for fowls as oats. If ryecorn is used it should first be boiled. p. W., Dunedin.—We have not been able to ascertain the names of the arrangements on the backs of Indian mothers in which they carry their babies. In the case of Red Indian mothers the babies are carried on boards enclosed in a leather casing, and in case qf Indian mothers in India the babies are carried in baskets. - .
