The Port Chalmers Borough Council has appointed Miss M. Crulckshank, of Invercargill, as borough librarian. Mrs Una J. Campbell, of Edinburgh, has been appointed principal* of Queen Margaret College, Wellington. Mr P. G. Connolly, M.P., left by air yesterday morning on the first stage of his journey to the United Kingdom as leader of the New Zealand delegation to the Empire Parliamentary Association conference. Mr H. W. Wilson, of Henley, has accepted nomination for the Otago Catchment Board for the combined district of Taierl and Peninsula Counties. Mr Wilson has been a member of the Taieri Rlvei Trust for the last 15 years and chairman of that authority for the last 11 years. Owing to his continued ill-health, Mr W. J A. Chartress, who for the past 44 years has been in the service of Ross and Glendining, Ltd., and who for some years has occucied the position of manager of the Wellington branch, and has also been a director of the company, has found it necessary to terminate his association with the firm. The Board -of Directors has appointed Mr A. J. Linney from the staff of the Wellington branch as branch manager, with Mr D. 1 Ross as assistant manager.
