MURDER CHARGE

ABBOTSFORD SHOOTING FURTHER REMAND GRANTED Charged with the murder of Alexander Sickels at Abbotsford on August 4. John Fraser, a malster, aged 48, appeared on remand in the City Police Court yesterday. He was represented by Mr F. W. Guest. Chief Detective Hall asked for a further remand until Thursday, August 19. “ Inquiries have still to be continued," he Stated. The magistrate, Mr J. D. Willis, remanded the accused in custody. Fraser did not appear to hear the court orderly’s instruction to leave the dock and remained standing there until a constable tapped him on the shoulder. The accused was dressed neatly in a blue, striped suit, and stood erect as the brief proceedings were completed.
