The peanut district around Rockhampton, Australia, is experiencing a boom in carpet snakes. Mice have been growing fat on the new peanut crop, and now tr.e farmers are putting snakes on the stacks, where they are growing fat on the mice-. The snakes are in such demand that they are bringing £1 a head.
