AUSTRALIAN ORANGES
TWO SHIPMENTS ARRIVE BANANAS RIPENING SLOWLY About 2300 cases of Australian oranges, which arrived in Dunedin on Monday, reached the market yesterday in excellent condition. A further shipment of 300„ cases arrived on the Waitaki yesterday, and will be released at the end of the week. Although the shipment of bananas which arrived in Dunedin last week is ripening slowly, •it i should be in the hands of retailers by Friday. Statesman and Delicious apples continue in heavy supply, and are meeting with a steady demand. Cooking apples and pears are short of requirements. Cabbages are still realising the ceiling price, but cauliflowers are more plentiful, and are selling at lower prices than last week. Leeks, swedes, and Brussels sprouts are in heavy supply, and a shipment of North Island pumpkins is meeting a poor demand. Carrots are scarce.
