WAIAREKA Special to the Daily Times
OAMARU, Aug. 10. There was a small yarding in all sections of to-day’s Waiareka sale. Prices for fat cattle were firm to £1 better than late rates, and fat sheep were from 30s to 40s firmer. There was a keen demanc, for store sheep. Quotations:— Fat Cattle.—Prime fat bullocks made £26 to £2B; medium, £23 to £25 15s. Heifers, prime, made £2l to £23. Cows, young prime, made £l6 to £2l. Fat Sheep.—Prime heavy wethers made 76s to 81s; prime, 67s to 70s: medium, 55s to 625. Prime heavy ewes made 49s to 575; medium. 40s to 47s 6d; light, 33s to 375.
Store Sheep.—A pen of romney cross ewe hoggets made 54s 3d and a pen of forward two-tooth wethers made 50s 2d.,
