BRILLIANT FINISH

BALLINAGH’S PERFORMANCE ,

The feature of the Paparua Handicap on Saturday was the dazzling finishing run by Ballinagh to get within half a head of Lord Elgin. Well back from the leaders when the field settled down, he was tenth into the straight and his chance of reaching a place looked anything but bright. He came through brilliantly, however, and in another stride or two would almost assuredly have beaten Lord Elgin. A chestnut five-year-old by BallOch from Anteroom, by Fairway, Ballinagh races in the colours of Mr H. M. Glazebrook, and he looks like having a profitable season.
