WATCHMAKING STANDARDS
GREATER PROTECTION FOR PUBLIC REGISTRATION BILL p.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. The protection of the public against the unskilled handling of timepieces and the raising of the ethical standard of the watchmaking trade are the principle aims of the Watchmakers’ Registration Bill, introduced by Mr J. Robertson, and read a second time in the Legislative Council to-day. Mr Robertson said the Bill provided for the setting up of a registration board to register those qualified in the trade.
