FATAL ACCIDENT

CONCLUSION OF INQUEST That Leo James Valle, a waterside worker, aged 42, died at the Dunedin Hospital on July 11 as the result of Injuries received in a collision With a motor car, was the finding returned by Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., sitting as coroner, at the conclusion of the inquest held yesterday. Mr D. A Bell appeared for the driver cf the car, Karl Larsen, Mr J, B. Deaker for the relatives, and Mr C. C. Dawkins for the New Zealand Pedestrians’ Association. Dr E. F. D'Ath. pathologist at the Medical School, said that after an examination of Valle he concluded that his death was caused by injuries to the brain and a fractured skull. Other evidence was given by Dr D. W. Low, Constable W. George, Sergeant A C. Chiles, Miss M. A Duncan, a passenger in the car, and Karl Larsen. It was stated that Larsen was driving his car along Crawford street on the night of July 10 when Vaile appeared in the roadway and the collision ocourred.
