HANDEL’S “SAMSON”

Much interest will be shown in the appearance of Hubert Milverton-Carta, the well-known New Zealand tenor, at the Dunedin Choral Society’s performance of Handel’s oratorio, " Samson,” on Wednesday. Other soloists are Joyce Izett, of Wellington, who appeared in last year’s “Messiah” performance, and Miss Molly Atkinson, contralto, also of Wellington. The Dunedin singers are: Mona Ross who will take the part of Delilah, Alfred Jeavons, and GeofTrev de Lautour. The chorus work should be of a high standard. The tenor section is stronger than last year. Miss Gladwys Syder will be the organist, and. the performance will be under the direction of Mr Charles Collins. The 4YA Orchestra will be led by Mr ’J. Ewell.
