SWEDEN ELIMINATES BRITAIN Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, July 11. In Stockholm, Sweden, by winning a double in the European zone of the Davis Cup, eliminated Britain from the Davis Cup. Bergelin defeated Mottram 6—3, 6—2, 6—3, and Johannsson defeated Paish (Britain) 6—2, 2—6, B—6, 8— 1. Sweden and Czechoslovakia will meet in the European zone final of the Davis Cup. Sweden defeated Britain by 4 matches to 1 in the semifinal played at Stockholm and Czechoslovakia eliminated Italy by 3 matches to 1 in Milan. Bergelin, of Sweden, defeated Paish 4—6, 6 —4, 6—l. 6 —2; Mottram (Britain) defeated Johansson 6—3, 6—2, 2—6, 6—2; Drobny (Czechoslovakia) defeated Delbello (Italy) 11—9. 6—3, 6—2.
