United Nations Appeal for Children

At an afternoon tea concert arranged by Mrs D. Maider in the. Orphans’ Club Hall last week, the sum of over £67 was raised. The Mayor, Sir Donald Cameron, stressed the .great need for money to buy food and clothing and stated that Dunedin had contributed £17,000. He appealed to those who had not already given to do so, and at the retiring colelction £l2 7s 4d was raised. After an enjoyable concert, Mrs Maider thanked those who had helped to make the afternoon a success.
