“I’m Mabel to Everybody”

"I’m Mabel to everybody; nobody thinks of calling me the Minister or Miss Howard,” said the Minister of Health when speaking to pupils of Northland College, Kaikohe, on a recent morning. She had been invited to the college to discuss nursing training, and had' been told by the principal that some 40 girls at present were taking the mothercraft course and the majority desired to enter the nursing profession. Miss Howard addressed the pupils, and after speaking of the opportunities awaiting girls in nursing, she also invited some of the boys to consider male nursing as a career.
