Bamfbrd (Mr J P Ward) was declined by 'the magistrate on the grounds that the alternative accommodation offered Bamiford was not suitable. Judgment by Default ,!“ Judgment by default was given for the plaintiffs in the following cases:—S. MaxWell v. J. Eennie, £3 12s (costs £1 13s 6ti), for goods supplied: Catherine McDonald v. A. Stewart, £3l (costs £4 Is 6d), the amount owing on a loan; Dunedin Painters’ Union v. Walter Charles William Stroud, for £1 6s (costs 12s) for contributions due; George Kitchfn v. Robert Charles Howell Green, £3 6s lOd (costs £1 8s 6d), balance owing for goods supplied; William McLaughlin (Christchurch) v. Robert McLaughlan, £65 10s (costs £4 13s) for unpaid loans: Dunedin Ice Cream Companv v. Maurice Dunbar for £2B 9s 8d : (costs £4 2s 6d). for goods supplied Judgment Summons An order for payment by the defendant, In default five days’ imprisonment was made in the case in which T. W. Dobbie proceeded against J Carey for £5 Is Od on a ludgment summons.. Costs were allowed at 14s. The magistrate ordered that the warrant should not be issued provided that the judgment debtor paid weekly Instalments of 10s off the amount owing.
