DANGER FROM LIGHTNING
REASONABLE CAUSE TO STOP PLAY NEW GOLF RULE PROPOSAL Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, June 8. A new golf rule allowing for the discontinuation of match play in case of danger from lightning is among the draft of proposed new ~ules issued by the St. Andrew's Committee. The chairman, Mr Bernard Darwin, said: “The recent tragedy at a football match, in which a player was killed by lightning, makes this not only reasonable, but also essential."
