PRESBYTERY MEETING

Presentation of Call A call to the parish of Halkett was presented to the Rev. J. Fordyce, of .Enfield, at the monthly meeting of the Oamaru Presbytery yesterday. The moderator, the Rev. A. Marshall, spoke in appreciation of the excellent work carried out by Mr Fordyce in his parish and also as clerk of the Oamaru Presbytery. The Rev. L. W. Rothwell was appointed clerk. Advice was received that Dr George McLeod, of Scotland, would make a tour of New Zealand late in the year, and would be in Dunedin on November 13, 14 and 15. Mr Marshall reported that the “ retreat recently held by the South Canterbury Presbytery at Peel Forest had been an outstanding success.
