COMMANDING POSITION
AUSTRALIANS RUN UP BIG SCORE MATCH AGAINST SUSSEX LONDON, June 7. The weather was fine and sunny for the second day of the match between Sussex and Australia at the county cricKet ground at Hove. Brown and Morris resumed batting and piled up the runs. The rate of scoring can be judged by the fact that 189 runs were added to. the Australians’ total in 105 minutes. Bradman was at his best and played his full variety of shots and was abiy supported by Morris. Lindwall played an inspiring innings until stumped by' Griffiths. Cornford’s bowling improved on his efforts in the first innings. He was responsible for the dismissal of both Bradman and Lindwall. Lindwall was dismissed about four overs before lunch, and Harvey, with Hamence, carried on until the adjournment.
