Owing to the impending retirement of Sir Kerr Grant, the Chair of Physics at Adelaide will soon be vacant. The policy of the University Council is to attract to this post one of the ablest of the younger school of physicists within the English-speaking countries, and an appropriate salary, with Federated Superannuation System for Universities in Great Britain benefits, will be offered to a Physicist of outstanding merit and accomplishments. The selected applicant will be expected to develop the School of Physics and to inspire and guide post-graduate research work. He should also be fully conversant with modern theoretical physics. On request, the Registrar will supply a statement describing the existing facilities and organisations, and the lines along which it is hoped there will be further development of the School of Physics.
