FAIR AND COOL The following is the official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A depression is moving to the north of New Zealand from the Tasman Sea. A ridge of high pressure covers the South Tasman. New Zealand Forecast to 5 p.m.— Moderate south-west winds: weather fair and cool. Further Outlook.—Mainly fair. Weather in Dunedin.—A frost of 2.4 deg was Recorded in Dunedin yesterday, when conditions were cold, with a breeze from the west. The sun shone for lhr 24min, and there was a trace of rain. Temperatures were: Maximum, 50deg; minimum, 36deg; grass minimum, 29.6 deg. The barometric pressure rose slightly during the day, the midnight reading being 30.2 in (1023 millibars).
