ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY

Election for Council Six nominations have been received for the five vacancies on the council of the Waitaki Acclimatisation Society, so that an election will be necessary. Those nominated are Messrs R. B. Gibb, A. J. Rennie, H. D. Sim, A. W. Slater, I. A. Taylor and W. W. Goodall. The balance sheet shows a very satisfactory position, revenue from the sale of fishing licences having increased by £3B 8s 6d to £359 8s 6d, and the proceeds from game licences by £47 12s 6d to £244 7s 6d. Both, figures are records. Despite the greatly increased expenditure on ranging, the balance of assets over liabilities stood at £1722 12s, an increase of £l3l 6s 9d for the year.
