CLOUDY AND COLD The Meteorological Office in Wellington has issued the following official weather forecast for to-day:— Situation.—A deep depression south of New Zealand is associated with a cold front crossing the North Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-day.—Fresh to strong west winds, weather cloudy and cold with occasional showers, but improving inlApd and in North Otago during the 3jay. Further outlook—changeable westerly weather. Weather in Dunedin.—Although the sky was threatening late yesterday after a dull day there was no rain up till a late hour last night. The barometer was still falling at midnight, when it stood at 29.21 (989 millibars). Temperatures ranged between 49.3 deg and 54deg, and sunshine totalled 1 hour 30 minutes. The wind was from the north-east.
