DRASTIC REDUCTION

WELLINGTON MILK SUPPLIES P.A. WELLINGTON. May 25. Because of the autumn drought, resulting in a shortage of stock food, combined with the recent wintry weather and severe floods in its milk-producing areas, the Wellington City Council announced a drastic reduction immediately in the supply of milk to consumers. To avoid drastic rationing, the public has been asked to reduce demands to the barest. No milk will be available to shoos and offices for workers’ cups of tea. The school milk service has ceased, and milk will not be supplied for the manufacture of Ice cream. Half supplies only will be available for tearooms, restaurants, and milk bars. If the voluntary public response is insufficient, the alternative, it is stated, will be the introduction of miikless days, which will be applied in rotation in the areas concerned.
