ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

Gift to Oamaru Club Junior players were the subject of discussion at a meeting of the Oamaru Association Football Club, held recently, Mr J. Allen being in the chair. Mr A. Napier presented a shield for competition among players under 18 years, and it was announced that it would be competed for on the challenge system. Members whose services as junior coaches were accepted were Messrs J. Napier (Oamaru), R. Tomlinson (South Hill) and R. Hector (Eveline United). On condition that the first match should be played in Oamaru, it was decided to enter the Oamaru senior team in the South Canterbury Association's Fraser Cup competition, and arrangements were made to hold a seven-a-side tournament at Takaro Park on Saturday. Draw for Saturday The Oamaru senior team for Saturday is:—Daniels, K. Stevenson, Lundberg, Pate, C. Brown, K. Dorin, McVay, Park, Woods, Webster, Devon; emergencies— McLean, J. Stevenson, Gardner.
