PEARSE.—On May 22, 1948. at Auckland, Susan Martin, widow of John Fry Hitching, Moa Flat, and loved mother of Mrs C. R. Grant (Island Cliff), Mrs M. Ingles (Ruawai), Mrs L. McQueen (Auckland), J. O. Hitching (Dunsandel), and George Pearse (Auckland): in her eighty-sixth year. SCOTT.—On May 25, 1948, at the residence, Union street, Milton, Jessie Lou, loved wife of the late Alexander Scott: aged 84 years. “At rest.” No flowers.— Private interment. —J. R.
