ST. HILDA’S SCHOOL

A YEAR’S ACTIVITIES The annual meeting of the St. Hilda's Collegiate School was attended by Bishop Fitehett (chairman), Mrs R. W. S. Botting., Mrs J. S. Sinclair, Mrs R. G. Sinclair, Mrs M. Joel, Mrs W. Mac Lean, Messrs A. H. Alien, A. Ibbotson, J. Simpson, A. N. Haggitt and the Rev. L. D. C. Groves. Last year had seen the school roll reach a satisfactory total, the report stated, and results in public examinations had been good. A school team had won the interschool basketball competition, while the A hookey team had been runners-up in its grade. Steady progress had been made in musical activities. Staffing difficulties had presented some serious problems during the year, but the work of the school suffered little through the changes. At the beginning of the year the laboratory had been enlarged, and two microscopes, along with some extra equipment, had been obtained. Tliis had been very helpful to the teaching of science.
