YOUNG BOY SUCCUMBS
P.A. AUCKLAND, May 24. The death of a seven-year-old boy from Te Awamutu from infantile paralysis has brought the number of fatal cases of the disease in the South Auckland health district since the epidemic began to seven. Two further positive cases have been reported in the area. One is another boy aged seven from Te Awamutu, and the other a man aged 42 from Te Rauamoa, near Kawhia. Two suspects were admitted to the Auckland Hospital to-day. There were 50 positive cases of the disease and three suspects in hospital to-night. Three further cases were reported from widely-separated areas in Northland. They were a girl aged three from Ruawai, a girl aged 10 from Kaingaroa, and a Maori girl aged one year from Kaikohe. This brought the total for Northland to 37.
