This man has been bookmaking since last September,” said Senior Detective Compton in the Magistrate’s Court today, wlien Griffiths Davies, aged 44, a salesman, pleaded guilty to carrying on the business of a bookmaker. He was convicted and fined £IOO by Mr H. J. Thompson, S.M. James Jeremiah Wilson, a carpenter, who pleaded guilty to a charge of bookmaking, was convicted and fined £75.
