POSTAGE OF POISONS

Sir, —Since strychnine poisoning is still a subject fresh in the minds of the public, one would imagine that dealers and distributors of this poison would use every care to ensure its safe delivery. I was astonished, therefore, on entering the unattended railway station shelter at Weston this morning to find a brown paper parcel addressed to a local farmer, with both “ Poison ” and “ Strychnine ” labels attached to it. I am not writing this through prejudice towards anyone, but feel that it is my duty to protect the children who have full use of this shelter from coming in contact with a danger which could well be avoided if the senders of these parcels used registered post.—l am, etc., J. P. Wallace.
