CRASH INTO POLE

DEATH OF CAR PASSENGER EARLY MORNING ACCIDENT p.A. TIMARU, May 23. John Harry Bailey, aged 19, of 39 Craigie avenue, Timaru, died in the Timaru Public Hospital four hours after the motor car in which he was an occupant crashed into a telephone pole at the corner of Pringle and Evans streets, Timaru, at 1.10 a.m. on Saturday. Two other occupants of the car were injured. They were Eric Wilson Ovens, aged 33, of 26 Ryan street, Linwood, Christchurch, and William Andrew Sinclair, aged 18, of Rhodes street, Timaru. Ovens’s condition is described as improving, and Sinclair was discharged from the hospital this morning.
