Revelled in Going Clueless revelled in the deep going at Hutt Park on Saturday, and led all the way to win the Rongotai Handicap. He paid almost a third of a century. Brilliant Double Belmoral trotted faultlessly to win a double at Hutt Park on Saturday, and outclassed the opposition. He paid almost a score in his first win. Whipster’s Easy Win Whipster ranged alongside the pacemaker, Will Scarlett, three furlongs from home in the Wai-iti Trot at Washdyke, and then strode away, winning by six lengths from Bay Jack, who came late on the scene to beat Victory Globe and Will Scarlett. The favourite, Piquant, and half the field started badly. *■ Winchester Trot Melton made up his handicap smartly in the Winchester Trot at Washdyke, and, after joining Ipso Facto in the run to the straight, he worked clear and held on to win by half a length from Peggydale, who challenged solidly after adding to her task through starting slowly. New Venture was a good third. Winter Handicap Lone Raider was well placed throughout the Winter Handicap at Hutt Park on Saturday, and, taking the lead before turning for home, finished strongly to beat Caudrav and Golden Shadow. Congo Song worked into the lead before the half-mile, and, with a round to go, had Lone Raider, Bonny Scott, Mountain Hall, Positive, Contender, gnd Bonny Clare next. Positive ran up smartly down the back to be handy to the lea'der, and when Congo Song' tired two furlongs from home Lone Raider ran to the front for a comfortable win. Caudrav finished from the back for second, with Golden Shadow going his besr race for some time for third in front of Mountain Hall. KING’S FIRST WIN OF SEASON LONDON, May 21. The King had his first win of the season when his filly Angelola, ridden by W. 11. Carr, won the Oaks Trial Stakes by a neck at Lingfield Park.
