BLUNT REFUSAL

INFORMATION FOR UNITED NATIONS TRANSJORDAN’S ACTION Rec. 10 p.m. NEW YORK, May 20. Transjordan to-night bluntly refused to answer .questions by the United Nations Security Council on its role in the, Palestine war. Its refusal came several hours after the Ukraine had charged that Britain was fighting Israel through the Arab Legion of Transjordan. . Fawzi A 1 Mulki, the Transjordan Foreign Minister, sent a message to the Council that its questions were inspired by the United States, that the United States had not recognise.d Transjordan in over two years, while it recognised Israel in a matter of hours, and that the United Nations had rebuffed Transjordan’s application for membership. King Abdullah’s Government therefore would not answer the questions by the Council.
