United Nations Appeal.—The amount received by the town clerk, Mr J. Branthwaite, for the United Nations Appeal for the Children of Europe to 1 p.m. yesterday was £1559 16s 2d.
Papakaio Ploughing Match.—As the result of a strong committee being appointed by the Papakaio Ploughing Match Society to carry on its activities, delegates to the annual conference of societies at Rakaia discussed tile question of dates for matches. Papakaio has been allotted June 26 for the annual match in North Otago.
