OPENING COMMUNITY SING

Proceeds of the first community sing of the season, to be held in the Strand Theatre next Friday, are in aid of the United Nations Appeal for Children, and donations for this worthy cause can be sent to Mr J. F. Himburg, of Charles Begg and Co. Special entertainment will be provided by a Maori party, and several articles, including hand-embroidered linen, have alread' been received for sale.

Mr H. P. Desmoulins will lead the singing, with Mr A. H. Pettitt at the piano and Mrs Mclntyre in charge of the stall.

Members of the Manawatu Young Farmers’ Club have accepted an invitation tc be present.
