RECORD-BREAKING FLIGHT

AMERICAN SUPER-BOMBER ALOFT FOR DAY AND A-HALF WASHINGTON, May 20. An American 836 super-bomber recently flew a record-breaking 8000 miles with a dummy bomb load of around five' tons, says the United Press. It was aloft a day and a-half. This means that the aircraft could have flown the round trip from Alaska to Moscow. If it flew the 8000 miles in a straight line it could fly from Alaska to practically any point in the world.

The new super-bomber dwarfs any other war plane, and it will carry its own fighter planes and 36 tons of bombs. Its average speed now, however. is only 222 miles art hour, as large horse-power engines are not available.
