SINGLE DAY’S TOTAL

OVER £IOOO FOR CHILDREN’S FUND Approximately £ 1000 was handed into the town clerk’s office yesterday for the United Nations Children’s Appeal, bringing the total to date up to a little more than £3500. Commenting on the excellent response made by the public yesterday, the chairman of the committee, Mr L. M. Wright, said that it appeared that the public was now giving wholehearted support to the worthy cause.
