DEATH OF MINE MANAGER A verdict in accordance with the medical evidence of Dr E. F. D’Ath and Dr G. F. Hall was returned by Mr A. E. Dobbie, S.M., sitting as coroner, when the adjourned inquest into the death of John Hodson, coal mine manager, of Bannockburn, was concluded yesterday. The verdict was that Hodson died in the Dunedin Public Hospital on April 21 after having received multiple injuries when crushed by a fall of coal in a mine at Bannockburn on April 9. The Police Department was represented at the inquest by Sergeant J. P. Mather, and Mr G. Smith appeared on behalf of the Mines Department.
