INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION DOMINION REPRESENTATION AT ASSEMBLY P.A. WELLINGTON, May 20. New Zealand will be represented at the second assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, which will be convened at Geneva on .Tune 1. The Minister in Charge of Civil Aviation, Mr Jones, announced to-day that the delegates would be Mr F. Shanahan (Assistant Secretary of External Affairs), who will be the leader, Mr E. A. Gibson (Director of Civil Aviation), Mr S, R. Meatchem and Mr P. P. Heller, Civil Aviation branch -of Air Department). Mr Jones said that the 1.C.A.0. was now providing a very necessary service not only in the technical field by preparation of standards, but also in the legal and economic spheres of air transport. At the forthcoming assembly the general question of administration and organisation of 1.C.A.0. would be discussed, but it was likely also that consideration would be given to the special legal and economic problems affecting international air service operations. It was anticipated that 46 member nations of the 1.C.A.0. would be represented at the assembly as well as delegates from a number of other countries and from several international bodies, including the United Nations, the International Labour Organisation and the International Air Transport Association.
