PETROL ALLOWANCES
Sir,—l noticed an advertisement in the Daily Times asking for petrol coupons for the purpose of visiting patients by a local doctor, as he appeared to be unable to obtain sufficient petrol. Now, it has occurred to me that should I donate some coupons, and should the doctor be stopped by an inspector and asked as to the source of his petrol supply, what would be my position as regards my own oil fuel license?—l am, etc.. Curious Motorist. [When this letter was referred to the oil fuel control authorities yesterday it was learned that, if such a case were discovered, the licence of the donor of the coupons would be liable to review.—Ed. Sir,—ln the Daily Times I noticed a request by a Dunedin doctor for unwanted petrol coupons to enable him to visit sick patients. It is a disgrace to the Government of New Zealand that a request of this kind should be necessary, and that is putting it mildly.—l am, etc., . Quo Vadls.
