TEMPORARILY IMPROVING The Meteorological Office in Wellington has issued the following official weather forecast for to-day:— Situation. —A deep and complex depression is moving on to the south of New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate south-west winds gradually prevailing. Weather temporarily fair. Temperatures cool. Further Outlook.—Cold, with further rain. Weather in Dunedin.—A high wind from tjie north-east, driving rain and cold temperatures made the weather in Dunedin yesterday most unpleasant. The maximum temperature recorded was ,53.5 degrees, the minimum 52.5. and the grass minimum 50 degrees. No sunshine was recorded. For the 24 hours ended at 51.30 a.m.. the rainfall amounted to 0.14 inches. The barometer cropped steadily throughout the day, and at midnight the reading was 29.40 inches (996 millibars).
