REASSURING VIEW

WAIPIATA SANATORIUM

Special to the Daily Times OAMARU, May 18. “Waipiata is an outstanding example of how a sanatorium should be run,” said Dr D. J. Miller at a meeting of the Waitaki Hospital Board to-day. These comments were made when the chairman, Mr James Rodman, spoke of the recent controversy regarding Pleasant Valley and the Wakari Sanatorium, which arose from discussions concerning the treatment of tuberculosis patients in the Otago Hospital Board's district. Mr Rodman said that patients at Waipiata might have been caused some uneasiness, but every word in Dr A. Kidd’s recent article in the Otago Daily Times was correct so far as Waipiata was concerned.
