PROSPECTS FOR WINTER TRADE NOT. PESSIMISTIC No immediate shortage of milk for the city supply is expected by the milk trade in Dunedin. The general opinion is that supplies will be adequate for the remainder of the season provided the weather remains reasonably good. July is usually the most difficult month for the production of milk in Otago, and a spell of particularly bad weather then would have the effect of reducing substantially the quantity of milk available. Members of the milk trade, however, told the Daily Times yesterday that the position was satisfactory at present, and there was no difficulty in maintaining the supply to schools, and to the public in the meantime. Milk for the city supply is now being drawn from as far south as Kaitangata and/ Stirling, and the trade reports that the increase in the price to producers from Is 8.36 d to 2s a gallon is stimulating production,
